AuricLink Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 12, 2026
AuricLink ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use AuricLink, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
By using AuricLink, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
• We do not collect any personal data.
• We do not require account creation, sign-in, or personal information to use the App.
• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information.
• We do not collect or store your Google account, passwords, or any authentication credentials.
• We do not access, read, or store your contacts, messages, photos, or files.
2. Information Processed and Stored Locally on Your Device
• URLs and links you choose to scan or check using the App.
• Scan results generated for each link you check.
• Your scan history, which is stored locally on your device and limited to the most recent entries.
• Your app preferences, settings, and achievement progress.
• Clipboard content is accessed only when you explicitly tap the "Paste" button. It is processed locally and never transmitted to us.
• QR codes are scanned locally using your device's camera. Camera images are processed on-device and are never stored or transmitted.
• All data described in this section remains on your device and is not sent to us.
3. How We Use Information
• To analyze and check the safety of links you submit.
• To display results, warnings, and safety recommendations.
• To maintain your local scan history and achievement progress.
• To send you optional daily safety tips and weekly summaries through local notifications on your device.
• To improve the reliability, performance, and security of the App.
Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA Users): Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process the limited data described above on the basis of legitimate interest (providing a functional safety tool) and your consent (granting permissions).
4. Accuracy of Results and No Guarantee of Safety
• AuricLink provides informational analysis of links based on publicly available data, pattern matching, and automated checks.
• We do not guarantee that any link is safe, unsafe, or malicious. Our results represent our best assessment at the time of scanning and may not reflect the current or complete state of a website.
• Threats on the internet change constantly. New malicious sites appear and legitimate sites may be compromised. Our checks cannot detect every possible threat.
• A "No Threat Detected" or similar result does not mean a link is guaranteed safe. It means our automated checks did not identify any known indicators of risk.
• You should always exercise your own judgment before clicking, downloading, or interacting with any link, even if AuricLink does not flag it.
• AuricLink is not a substitute for professional cybersecurity advice, antivirus software, or your own caution.
• By using the App, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own decisions about which links to open.
5. Network Requests and Third-Party Services
• When you check a link, the App may make network requests to the link's destination server, public WHOIS and RDAP directories, and publicly available threat intelligence resources to determine safety and domain information.
• These requests are limited to the URL you submitted and are necessary for the App to function.
• The App may query publicly available threat intelligence sources (such as domain registries, WHOIS/RDAP services, and community-maintained security feeds) to determine link safety. These queries contain only the URL being checked and are not linked to any user identity.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
• We do not share your data with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers.
• Third-party services contacted during a link check (such as domain registries) operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
6. Permissions
• Camera Permission — used solely to scan QR codes. Images are processed on your device and are never stored or transmitted.
• Internet Permission — required to check links, verify HTTPS connections, look up domain information, and access publicly available threat databases.
• Notification Permission — used to deliver optional daily safety tips and weekly summaries. You may disable these at any time in your device settings.
• The App does not request access to your location, contacts, call logs, SMS, microphone, or files.
7. Data Storage and Security
• All scan history, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device only.
• We do not operate servers that store your personal information or scan history.
• Network requests made during a link check use secure HTTPS connections whenever available.
• Link-checking requests may be routed through servers in various regions depending on the destination website. All communication uses secure HTTPS whenever available.
• We implement reasonable security measures to protect information processed by the App.
• No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
• Scan history and preferences remain on your device until you delete them within the App or uninstall the App.
• Uninstalling the App permanently removes all locally stored data.
• You may clear your scan history at any time using the "Clear Results" or history management options within the App.
• Because we do not store your data on our servers, there is no remote data to request deletion of.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or to object to certain processing. Since AuricLink stores all data locally on your device and does not transmit it to us, you can exercise these rights directly by managing the App's data on your device or by uninstalling the App. For users in California, we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA.
10. Children's Privacy
• AuricLink is intended for a general audience and is not directed toward children under 13.
• We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
• Because the App does not collect personal information, no such data can be collected from any user.
11. Changes to This Policy
• We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
• Updates will be posted within the App and on our official website.
• The "Effective Date" will reflect the latest version.
• Continued use of the App after changes means acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
